Job summary

Nedbank is seeking a custody operations professional to perform assigned tasks across Client Services, Settlements and Corporate Actions with accuracy and timeliness. The role requires operational discipline, governance awareness and the ability to handle exceptions within regulatory requirements.

You will validate processes, manage records, report on performance, and escalate issues while building strong relationships with stakeholders to sustain service quality and risk controls.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 or NSC is required.
• Relevant diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Financial Markets, Business Administration, Financial Management or related discipline.
• Certification required for the assigned activity (Strate and/or JSE where applicable).
• 3–5 years of banking, custody, securities services, financial markets, middle-office or transactional-processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute and oversee custody activities across Client Services, Settlements, and Corporate Actions, ensuring accurate processing, reconciliation, exception management and compliance with deadlines and controls.
• Maintain the integrity of operational processes through validation, monitoring, record management and delegated verification.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders for effective coordination across the custody value chain.
• Provide accurate reporting and manage operational risks and service impacts arising from failures, delays or exceptions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, governance and control requirements; identify and escalate risks as needed.
• Support a strong control environment through incident reporting, audit participation and remediation activities.
