Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Relevant food preparation or culinary qualification is advantageous.
• 2–3 years' experience in catering, hospitality, healthcare, or food service environments.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and portion standards.
• Assist with food preparation, ingredient preparation, and meal service.
• Ensure food is presented attractively and served on time.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness.
• Assist with stock control, stock rotation, and minimizing food wastage.
• Step in to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
