Job summary

Tsebo Solutions Group in Cape Town is seeking a kitchen/food service team member to uphold hygiene standards, assist with meal preparation, and maintain clean serving lines and dining areas. The role involves stocking the serving line, supporting training for new staff, and ensuring customer expectations are met under the contract terms.

The position supports a team-oriented environment, requiring good communication and the ability to work 45–50 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Be 18 years of age
• Must have completed at least a matric / senior certificate.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Company & Statutory regulations regarding cleanliness & hygiene.
• Ensure quality standards of customer service and operating processes, health and safety standards and food standards are met.
• Assist in preparation of meals, especially salads and desserts.
• Place entrees, salads, desserts and other food on the serving line.
• Keep serving line well-stocked and clean.
• May assist in training new employees.
• Store and record food leftovers.
• Keep canteen tables, kitchen and other areas clean and orderly.
• Ensure customer expectations are met within the contract provisions.
• Ensure a high level of customer service within the area of responsibility.
• Count and sign over stock in the designated area to the correct staff on following shift where applicable.
• Carry out any reasonable management request.
• Report and take action on customer and client complaints or compliments.
• Attend meetings and training courses as necessary.
• Performs related work as assigned.
