Job summary

• Experience in Credit Control, Debtors, or Accounts Receivable.
• High-volume environment experience is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of credit risk and debt recovery processes.
• Excellent numerical and reconciliation skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Professional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable handling difficult payment conversations and account disputes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and proactively collect outstanding debt.
• Allocate customer payments accurately and timeously.
• Reconcile payments against bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor customer accounts to ensure payment terms are adhered to.
• Investigate and resolve invoice disputes, debit notes, and account queries.
• Maintain accurate customer account information and records.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues.
• Process daily EDI invoicing files.
• Escalate overdue accounts where debt recovery action may be required.
• Support the Credit Control Team Leader and Credit Manager as needed.

About the Role

As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, maximising cash collection, reducing aged debt, and maintaining accurate customer records. You will play a key role in ensuring payment terms are met while delivering a high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and proactively collect outstanding debt
• Allocate customer payments accurately and timeously
• Reconcile payments against bank statements and resolve discrepancies
• Monitor customer accounts to ensure payment terms are adhered to
• Investigate and resolve invoice disputes, debit notes, and account queries
• Maintain accurate customer account information and records
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues
• Process daily EDI invoicing files

Requirements

• Previous experience in Credit Control, Debtors, or Accounts Receivable
