Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment (Pty) Ltd is recruiting a Credit Analyst for their client in Johannesburg. You will gather and analyse loan applicants' financial data to evaluate risk and assess creditworthiness of individuals, companies and institutions.

You will collaborate with the credit committee to approve or decline finance and make recommendations on credit lines. Further duties include risk analyses using regional data, preparing credit reports and ensuring collateral covenants are met.

Qualifications

• Matric or higher.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Business/Accounting/Finance/Credit Risk.
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in similar role.
• Strong Software Skills (Advanced Excel).
• Code 8 licence.
• Candidates must have NCR, RE3 OR RE5 certificates.
• Confident and proactive approach-anticipate issues and requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyses loan applicants' financial data to evaluate risk.
• Assesses creditworthiness of individuals, companies and institutions.
• Collaborates with credit committee to approve or decline finance.
• Makes recommendations about credit lines (increase, adjust, extend or close).
• Undertakes risk analysis using regional, sector-specific and other data.
• Prepares and presents credit reports.
• Monitors collateral compliance covenants and ensures adherence to regulations.
• Communicates credit decisions and policies to colleagues and applicants.
• Oversees document preparation and checking.
