Job summary

JVR Software is seeking a Credit Analyst in Edenvale, Johannesburg to assess credit risk for both individuals and corporates. You will analyze financial data, establish credit limits, and collaborate with sales, finance and risk teams to optimize credit strategies.

The role requires 3–4 years of credit analysis experience, a finance-related degree, and strong Excel/ERP skills. You will ensure compliance with NCA and internal policies while supporting executive decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Proven experience in credit analysis or commercial risk assessment.
• Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, ratio calculations, and cash flow evaluations.
• Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Sage) and advanced credit assessment tools/Excel.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and risk-mitigation skills.

Responsibilities

• Credit Assessment and Risk Analysis – Evaluate corporate or individual credit applications by analyzing financial statements, balance sheets, and credit bureau reports to determine risk profiles.
• Establish appropriate credit limits, terms, and conditions for new and existing accounts in accordance with organizational policies.
• Portfolio Management and Monitoring – Conduct regular risk assessments and financial reviews of the active client portfolio to spot early warning signs of default or delinquency.
• Collaborate with the collections and legal departments to minimize bad debt and restructure payment arrangements when necessary.
• Financial Modeling and Forecasting – Utilize statistical models and financial ratios to project cash flows and quantify potential credit risks.
• Develop data-driven insights to optimize the credit vetting process and support executive decision-making.
• Reporting and Compliance – Prepare comprehensive credit evaluation reports and present risk recommendations to credit committees and senior management.
• Ensure all credit processes and lending practices strictly comply with the National Credit Act (NCA), relevant commercial laws, and internal compliance frameworks.
