Job summary

SET Consulting in South Africa seeks a Senior Credit Analyst to join the Credit Department. You will assess new and existing clients, review financials, and test cash flow against facility requirements.

You will dominate in deal evaluation across sectors, prepare credit reports, and guide junior analysts, while maintaining independence from sales pressure. The role requires five years of credit experience and knowledge of FICA/NCR.

Qualifications

• A qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management or similar.
• Minimum five years of credit analysis experience with complex commercial deals.
• Asset/equipment finance or commercial lending experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow and credit risk.
• Experience with asset-backed lending and security structures.
• FICA/NCR regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assess new and existing clients and related entities for credit risk.
• Review financial statements, bank records, cashflows and contracts.
• Evaluate deals in construction, mining, transport, agriculture, aviation, power and other sectors; structure security.
• Prepare clear credit reports for approval committees.
• Maintain independence from sales pressure and escalate risks.
• Mentor junior analysts and ensure policy compliance.
