Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment (Pty) Ltd is recruiting a Credit Analyst for their client in Johannesburg. You will gather and analyse loan applicants' financial data to evaluate risk and assess creditworthiness of individuals, companies and institutions.

You will collaborate with the credit committee to approve or decline finance and make recommendations on credit lines. Further duties include risk analyses using regional data, preparing credit reports and ensuring collateral covenants are met.

Qualifications

• Matric or higher.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Business/Accounting/Finance/Credit Risk.
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in similar role.
• Strong Software Skills (Advanced Excel).
• Code 8 licence.
• Candidates must have NCR, RE3 OR RE5 certificates.
• Confident and proactive approach-anticipate issues and requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Makes recommendations about whether to increase, adjust, extend or close lines of credit.

Undertakes risk analysis using regional, sector-specific, environmental and other financial data.

Prepares and presents credit reports.

Aware of market trends

Monitors and adheres to collateral compliance covenants.

Ensures that all finance is concluded in adherence with company regulations.

Analyse data to verify information.

Helps to update and improve credit rating criteria

Communicates credit decisions and policies to fellow employees and credit applicants

Oversees or undertakes document preparation and checking

Requirements
