Staff Unlimited Recruitment is seeking a Cost Accountant in Kirkwood, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on accurate cost allocation across the supply chain and producer payments, with strong emphasis on reconciliation and financial controls.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure precise reporting for citrus packing and export activities. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in financial accounting, advanced Excel skills, and experience with Syspro/QX.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a financial accounting role, preferably in agriculture or FMCG.
• Strong cost accounting and reconciliation knowledge.
• Experience with foreign currency transactions and banking processes is advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills with exposure to ERP/accounting systems such as Syspro and QX.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the configuration and administration of cost accounting systems.
• Prepare and process producer payments and remittance statements accurately and on time.
• Reconcile sales, commissions, and general ledger accounts.
• Process commercial invoices and manage balance sheet control accounts.
• Assist with cash flow planning and monitor foreign exchange transactions.
• Supervise foreign currency bank accounts and related currency contracts.
• Administer debtors and creditors per company policies.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of systems used in citrus packing and export activities.
• Monitor overseas market performance to support financial planning and reporting.
