Job summary

A manufacturing company in South Africa is seeking an assembly worker to produce high-volume consumables and sub-assemblies for control equipment. The ideal candidate will have a Matric qualification, 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, and mechanical skills, including soldering. This is a contract position with an emphasis on quality control and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Computer literate.
• Knowledge on the use of basic tools such as screwdriver, hammer, and spanner.

• Control stock movements of raw material and finished product.
• Inspect verification and testing of sub-assemblies.

Purpose of the job

To assemble high volume consumables and sub-assemblies to be used in the final production of control equipment. To diligently follow the operating instructions so that finished product is manufactured to the highest quality at the required output.

Required outputs

• Functional
• Kit preparation and verification.
• Quality control of raw materials.
• Contributing to the development of operating instructions.
• Retrieval and adherence to the latest operating instructions.
• Fault finding and rework of malfunctioning newly built control equipment based on the historical faults database.
• Assembly of sub-assemblies and finished products.
• Inspection Verification and Testing of sub-assemblies and finished units.
• Labelling and packaging of products.

Control stock movements of raw material and finished product by maintaining proper flow of paperwork.

Adherence to the production plan to achieve the required output.

Documenting failures and corrective actions taken and issuing data to the supervisor.

Contributing to cycle counts.

Maintaining safety check lists related to the Factory safety program.

Maintain good housekeeping standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Matric / Grade 12.
• 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Computer literate.
• Soldering experience an advantage
• Knowledge on the use of basic tools e.g. screwdriver hammer and spanner
• Knowledge on the use of electronic instruments e.g. multi-meter power-supply.
