Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Legal Officer in Mahikeng, North West, to oversee end-to-end contract management. You will draft, review, and negotiate agreements, ensure compliance, and maintain a centralized repository while coordinating with procurement, sales, and operations to mitigate risks.

The role requires Admitted Attorney status with strong contract law knowledge, superb organization, and the ability to handle high-volume workloads in a dynamic industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney or equivalent legal qualification with at least 4 years of experience in contract law and management.
• Experience drafting and reviewing commercial agreements.
• Solid understanding of contract law principles and best practices.
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder interactions.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and amend commercial contracts including supplier agreements, service contracts, and NDAs.
• Manage the contract lifecycle from initiation to expiry or termination.
• Ensure contracts comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Maintain centralized contract repository and accurate record-keeping.
• Assist in negotiating terms with external parties.
• Identify and flag contractual risks for management review.
• Monitor performance and adherence to key clauses.
• Collaborate with internal departments to support contractual needs.
• Support legal team in managing disputes and claims.
