Core Responsibilities
1. Content Strategy, Product Development & Portfolio Management
- Translate client requirements, industry trends, and business objectives into scalable, commercially viable learning solutions and curriculum frameworks.
- Oversee the development, management, and continuous enhancement of the learning product portfolio, including existing course libraries and intellectual property.
- Prioritise content initiatives based on business value, learner demand, strategic goals, and resource availability.
- Drive learning innovation through market research, emerging methodologies, and industry best practices.
2. Programme Ownership, Governance & Compliance
- Take full ownership of programmes throughout their lifecycle, including design, development, version control, change management, annual reviews, and ongoing improvements.
- Establish and manage formal academic review, validation, and approval processes involving subject matter experts and key stakeholders.
- Ensure all content meets high standards of instructional quality, accuracy, accessibility, learner engagement, and brand consistency.
- Maintain compliance with relevant accreditation frameworks, regulatory requirements, and professional body standards.
- Develop and uphold content standards, style guides, templates, quality assurance processes, and AI content development guidelines.
3. Programme Implementation & Operational Readiness
- Ensure all new and updated learning programmes are fully operationally ready before launch.
- Develop comprehensive programme implementation documentation, including learner journeys, delivery schedules, assessment requirements, facilitator guides, operational procedures, and supporting resources.
- Coordinate handover and training sessions for Operations, Facilitators, Assessors, Moderators, Project Managers, and other stakeholders.
- Validate LMS readiness, learner registration processes, assessment requirements, and programme configurations before implementation.
- Ensure all operational stakeholders are aligned and formal sign-off processes are completed prior to programme launch.
4. AI-Enabled Learning & Digital Innovation
- Evaluate emerging learning technologies and drive the responsible adoption of AI within content development and instructional design processes.
- Leverage AI-powered tools, digital authoring platforms, and multimedia technologies to improve development efficiency, quality, and learner engagement.
- Collaborate with technical teams to deploy learning content across LMS and digital learning environments, ensuring compatibility with relevant standards where applicable.
- Maintain a central repository of learning assets, templates, standards, and AI-enabled workflows to support consistency and scalability.
5. Leadership, Team Management & Delivery
- Lead and coordinate instructional designers, content developers, multimedia specialists, platform resources, and external subject matter experts.
- Manage multiple content development projects, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
- Coach and develop team capability through mentoring, performance management, knowledge sharing, and succession planning initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external content partners and contractors, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and delivery excellence.

- Learning programmes are launched successfully with all academic, operational, and implementation requirements completed and approved.
- Consistent delivery of high-quality, compliant learning solutions that meet organisational and client expectations.
- Programme implementation timelines are achieved with minimal delays or operational issues.
- Continuous improvement in learner engagement, client satisfaction, content quality, and commercial performance.
- Effective governance processes are maintained, including programme reviews, version control, quality assurance, and compliance activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- Relevant qualification in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in instructional design, curriculum development, e-learning, content development, and project management.
- Experience within a commercial learning provider, corporate learning environment, consulting organisation, or agency environment is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of accreditation, compliance, and quality assurance requirements within structured learning environments.
- Advanced knowledge of digital authoring and content development tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Rise, Canva, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), digital publishing platforms, learner analytics, and reporting tools.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and translate strategic objectives into operational delivery.
- Strong understanding of AI-driven content development and the practical application of emerging learning technologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, organisational, and project delivery skills.
