Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join their team in Sandton. You will prepare cost estimates for a range of construction projects, analyzing blueprints, quantities, labor, materials, and equipment to support competitive bids.

Responsibilities include sourcing quotes from subcontractors, maintaining cost databases, and collaborating with project teams to ensure estimates align with project scope and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Construction Estimator.
• Proficiency in estimating software (PlanSwift, AccuBid) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Calculate quantities of materials, labor, and equipment required for projects.
• Obtain and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Develop and maintain a database of cost information and construction trends.
• Prepare bid proposals and participate in bid meetings as required.
• Collaborate with project management teams to ensure estimates align with project scope and objectives.
