Acuity Consultants is seeking a Compliance Specialist in Cape Town to take day-to-day responsibility for FAIS, FICA and FSCA compliance with a view to becoming the FSCA-appointed Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Control Officer.
You will manage the risk and compliance programme, regulatory reporting, and FICA/KYC onboarding across private equity structures, liaising with regulators and external advisers. Prior company secretarial exposure is useful.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Compliance Specialist with private equity experience to step into broader ownership of FAIS, FICA and FSCA compliance, with the opportunity to become the appointed Compliance Officer and MLCO for an established South African investment business.
This Compliance Specialist role is Cape Town-based with a CTC of up to R700K per annum.

It holds a Category I & II FSP licence and operates two private equity fund structures in partnership with one of South Africa's most established empowerment investors. With a 25-year track record, capital has already been deployed across renewable energy, education and healthcare businesses, alongside listed BEE scheme holdings that distribute dividends to non-profit beneficiaries.
As Compliance Specialist, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day compliance requirements of the Category I & II FSP, with the opportunity to become the FSCA-appointed Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Control Officer.
You will own and maintain the Risk Management and Compliance Programme, conduct compliance monitoring and risk assessments, manage regulatory reporting to the FSCA and FIC, and oversee FICA/KYC onboarding and ongoing due diligence across the firm's private equity structures.
You will also monitor Key Individual and Representative Fit & Proper requirements, support regulatory inspections and audits, track legislative developments, and liaise with regulators, auditors, investment professionals and external compliance advisers.
There will also be exposure to corporate governance and company secretarial matters across the broader group, including board documentation, resolutions and statutory administration, although prior company secretarial experience is not essential.
