Job summary

Placements24 in Bloemfontein, Free State, is seeking a compassionate Community Support Worker to provide in-home care to elderly clients. You will support daily living, assist with personal care, accompany to appointments, and promote independence within each client’s care plan.

You’ll collaborate with families, nurses, and therapists, maintain confidential records, and follow safety protocols. English and Afrikaans communication is preferred; a valid SA driver's license and reliable transport

Qualifications

• Proven caregiving experience, preferably with the elderly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to undergo background check and provide references.
• Languages: English and Afrikaans preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, medication reminders).
• Assist with light housekeeping, meals, and laundry.
• Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments and community events.
• Monitor health, report changes to supervising nurse/case manager.
• Maintain confidential client records and documentation.
• Collaborate with nurses and therapists to coordinate care.
• Follow safety protocols and infection control measures.
