Placements24 is seeking a proactive Community Liaison Officer to serve Sandton, Gauteng, bridging the organization and residents. You will engage with community members, local leaders, and stakeholders to ensure services are accessible, understood, and utilized, fostering strong relationships and feedback loops.

The role emphasizes empathetic communication, advocacy, event coordination, and collaboration to address community needs and promote social impact in the Sandton area.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Community Development, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Proven experience in community engagement, social work, or customer service roles.
• Strong understanding of the social and economic landscape of Sandton and Gauteng.
• Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Experience in event coordination is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact between our client and the residents of Sandton, Gauteng.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with community members, leaders, local businesses, and other organizations.
• Facilitate communication and understanding of our client's services and programs.
• Organize and participate in community events, workshops, and outreach activities.
• Gather feedback from the community regarding services and unmet needs, and report to management.
• Assist community members in accessing relevant services and support.
• Represent our client at community meetings and public forums.
• Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership within the community.
• Mediate potential conflicts and address community concerns promptly and effectively.
• Contribute to the development of outreach strategies and materials tailored to the local context.
