Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Community Outreach Coordinator in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal to foster strong community relationships, raise awareness of vital services, and mobilize support for initiatives. You will engage with local leaders, volunteers, and stakeholders to maximize impact and ensure effective service delivery.

The role requires excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills, with travel within the Durban area.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in community engagement, social work, or a related field.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse groups.
• Passion for the mission of the organization and social justice.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Durban area.
• Understanding of the social and economic landscape of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive community outreach strategies to increase visibility and engagement.
• Organize and manage community events, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local community leaders, stakeholders, and partner organizations.
• Identify potential donors and volunteers and cultivate those relationships.
• Represent our client at community forums, meetings, and public events.
• Gather feedback from the community to inform program development and service delivery.
• Create compelling content for outreach materials, social media, and newsletters.
• Track and report on outreach activities and their impact.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure aligned communication and program delivery.
• Manage outreach budgets effectively and ensure efficient use of resources.
