Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Community Engagement Officer in Polokwane to lead outreach and program development. The role blends field work with remote administration, focusing on fostering social inclusion and empowering marginalized communities.

You will design and implement projects, build partnerships, manage budgets, and report on outcomes while working with a supportive team to create meaningful community change.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Community Development, Sociology or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in community engagement, program management, or social work.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing successful community programs.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
• Strong networking abilities and experience building partnerships.
• Proficiency in project management and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Experience working with diverse and marginalized populations is essential.
• Familiarity with the socio-economic landscape of Polokwane is highly desirable.
• Comfort working in a hybrid model with field-based engagement and remote tasks.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community engagement strategies to promote social inclusion.
