Placements24 is seeking a Community Engagement Officer to drive local program involvement in Soweto. You will connect with residents, leaders, and groups, organizing meetings, workshops, and events that align with our social development goals.

Formación

• Previous experience in community work, social outreach, public relations, or a related field.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
• Proven ability to build rapport and trust with diverse community groups.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Familiarity with the social and cultural landscape of Soweto, Gauteng.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Word, email).
• A genuine commitment to community development and social impact.
• Flexibility to attend events outside of standard working hours when necessary.
• High school diploma required; tertiary qualification is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement strategies to engage the local community in organizational programs.
• Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and events.
• Build and nurture positive relationships with community leaders, residents, and local groups.
• Serve as a liaison between the organization and the community.
• Identify community needs and provide feedback to program development teams.
• Promote organizational services and opportunities within the Soweto area.
• Assist in the recruitment and coordination of volunteers for community activities.
• Maintain accurate records of community interactions and engagement activities.
• Represent the organization at community forums and public gatherings.
• Contribute to the development of communication materials tailored for the community.
