Placements24 is seeking a skilled Community Counsellor to deliver mental health services remotely in South Africa. You will conduct virtual sessions for individuals, couples, and families, assess and plan treatment, and connect clients with resources.

This fully remote role focuses on Kimberley and the Northern Cape region. Ideal candidates hold HPCSA registration, a Master’s degree, and at least 3 years of counselling experience, with strong tele-mental health expertise and ethical practice.

Qualifications

• Registered Counsellor or Psychologist with the HPCSA.
• Master’s degree in Psychology or relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in counselling practice.
• Proven expertise in delivering counselling services via tele-mental health platforms.
• Excellent active listening, communication, and empathy skills.
• Strong understanding of ethical guidelines for remote psychological practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual counselling sessions for individuals, couples, and families.
• Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for various mental health concerns.
• Offer psychoeducation and support on coping mechanisms and well‑being strategies.
• Maintain accurate, confidential client records and progress notes electronically.
• Liaise with external agencies and community partners as needed to facilitate referrals and support.
