Job summary

Teleperformance South Africa in Cape Town is seeking a customer collections agent to responsibly collect delinquent amounts via outbound and inbound calls, while delivering friendly service in line with company policy.

The role requires negotiation skills, empathy, and the ability to handle objections in a fast-paced environment. You will ensure compliance with local laws and client standards, using multiple systems to access customer accounts.

Qualifications

• Matric or NQF Level 4 (preferred).
• 6–12 months of experience in a collection process (preferred).
• 6–12 months of experience in a sales process (preferred).
• Superior oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collect delinquent amounts from consumers over the phone on outbound/inbound calls.
• Negotiate and persuade to connect with customers.
• Understand delinquency cycles for B2C/B2B and products to collect.
• Follow local laws set by credit and collection agencies.
• Demonstrate skip tracing techniques as per client programs and policies.
• Build rapport with consumers to understand debt delinquency and reasons.
• Maintain compliance, quality assurance, and client-specific standards on all accounts.
• Navigate multiple systems to access account information.
• Meet KPIs on a daily basis as defined by the client process.
• Demonstrate empathy and sympathy on calls with customers.
• Be polite and confident while handling objections.
• Respect Teleperformance's rules, regulations, and values.
