Job summary

Teleperformance in Cape Town is seeking a collection agent to handle delinquent accounts by phone on outbound and inbound calls, delivering a Simply Brilliant customer experience in line with company directives. The role emphasizes respectful, compliant outreach and effective debt recovery strategies.

You will negotiate and persuade customers, apply skip tracing where necessary, follow local credit regulations, and maintain client standards while navigating multiple systems to update account

Qualifications

• Matric or NQF Level 4 (preferred).
• 6–12 months of experience in collections (preferred).
• 6–12 months of experience in sales (preferred).
• Superior oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collect delinquent amounts from consumers via outbound and inbound calls.
• Negotiate and persuade to recover outstanding balances.
• Follow local laws set by credit and collection agencies.
• Demonstrate skip tracing techniques per client programs and policies.
• Build rapport with consumers to understand debt delinquency.
• Maintain compliance with QA and client standards on all accounts.
• Navigate multiple systems to check and provide information on accounts.
• Meet KPIs set by the process based on client requirements.
• Demonstrate empathy and sympathy on calls while staying confident.
• Handle objections such as disputes, bill charges, statements, etc.
• Respect Teleperformance's rules, regulations, and values.
