Job summary

Objective Personnel is seeking a Plant Operator in Germiston, Gauteng to monitor and control process plant parameters, ensure gas purity, and support maintenance during shutdowns.

Responsibilities include sampling, testing against ISO 22000/HACCP standards, record-keeping, and upholding OHS Act safety thresholds in a beverage/FMCG environment.

Qualifications

• Matric BTech or Diploma in Chemical/Mechanical Eng required.
• 2–3 years in utilities or process plants, beverage/FMCG preferred.
• Familiar with pressure vessels, compressors, SCADA/PLC.
• Basic mechanical/instrumentation troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant parameters (pressure, temperature, flow, gas purity) via control systems.
• Collect gas samples and test purity to meet ISO 22000 / HACCP standards.
• Perform minor equipment servicing and assist maintenance during shutdowns.
• Record production logs and manage safety thresholds under OHS Act; load road tankers.

Requirements

• 2 - 3 Years experience operating utilities or industrial process plants (especially in beverage / FMCG sectors) Familiarity with pressure vessels, compressors, SCADA/PLC control systems, basic mechanical/instrumentation troubleshooting

Duties

• Monitor plant parameters (pressure, temperature, flow rates, and gas purity) using control systems, HMI/SCADA interfaces
• Collect gas samples, conduct purity and quality tests, and ensure compliance with food-grade or industrial standards (such as ISO 22000, FSSC, or HACCP in beverage and food plants)
• Perform minor equipment servicing, inspect compressors, valves, and gas detectors, and assist maintenance teams during planned shutdowns or breakdowns
• Record daily production logs, monitor zero-leak/safety thresholds under regulations like the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, and handle road tanker loading
