About the Role

This role is pivotal in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions that align with business objectives. You will work closely with stakeholders across various departments to understand their needs and translate them into comprehensive cloud strategies and architectures. We are looking for a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in cloud platforms and a passion for driving digital transformation through cloud adoption.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect resilient, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop and maintain cloud strategy roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend cloud services, technologies, and architectural patterns to meet project and enterprise requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and security teams to ensure successful implementation and ongoing management of cloud environments.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on cloud best practices, governance, and cost optimization strategies.
• Create detailed architectural diagrams, documentation, and presentations for technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience (7+ years) in IT architecture, with at least 4 years focused specifically on cloud solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), including their core services and networking capabilities.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles, compliance frameworks, and data protection strategies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to a varied audience across South Africa.
