About the Role

Our client is searching for an innovative and experienced Remote Cloud Solutions Architect to lead the design and implementation of cloud-based solutions for their global clients, with operations supporting Port Elizabeth . This is a fully remote position where you will architect, design, and deploy scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure and applications. You will work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to translate complex requirements into actionable cloud strategies. This role demands a deep understanding of cloud platforms, microservices architecture, and best practices for cloud security and operations, offering a fantastic opportunity for a proactive architect to shape the future of our client's cloud initiatives from anywhere in South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop and implement cloud migration strategies for existing applications and services.
• Define and enforce best practices for cloud governance, security, cost management, and compliance.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed for the cloud, leveraging microservices and containerization.
• Create technical roadmaps and provide guidance on cloud adoption and modernization initiatives.
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and technologies to enhance capabilities and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure and software development, with at least 4 years focused on cloud architecture.
• Proven experience designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or equivalent).
• Deep understanding of cloud-native technologies, microservices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
• Strong knowledge of networking, security, databases, and DevOps principles in a cloud context.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, crucial for a remote role .
