Job summary

BLU by Adcorp SA in Gauteng seeks a Project Leader for cloud sales and enterprise transformation. You will drive sales targets, develop strategies with regional teams, and coordinate internal and external resources to meet client cloud goals.

You will engage C-level stakeholders, articulate business value, and guide migration initiatives across public, private, and multi-cloud models while ensuring regulatory compliance and data protection in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in Public Cloud sales and 4+ years in cloud/datacenter solutions.
• Strong knowledge of VMware licensing, commercial models, and replacement strategies.

Job description

• Undertake the sales target KPI of the customer, gain insight into business opportunities based on the strategy and regional business objectives, participate in developing and implementing the development strategy.
• As the Project Leader manages project operation, integrates internal and external resources to help customers to achieve goals effectively and win-win outcomes with client’s cloud.
• Develop, nurture, and maintain clients Cloud key Customers, and build the relationship.

Professional skills requirements:

• Be familiar with one or more technical fields: Public cloud, IaaS, PaaS, container/Docker, HPC, IOT, AI, cloud storage, and disaster recovery.
• Be familiar with the methodology and key points of customer and channel development.
• Have professional knowledge about project support and customer technical solution communication.
• Have professional knowledge about organization, training, and project management.
• Strong understanding of the South African enterprise cloud and data-center market, preferably with experience in financial services, telecommunications, government, or other large enterprise sectors.
• Good knowledge of VMware licensing, commercial models, renewal challenges, and the business drivers behind VMware replacement and platform modernization.
• Familiarity with public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud, sovereign cloud, and multi-cloud operating models.
• Understanding of South African data-protection, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements, including POPIA and industry-specific data-residency considerations.
• Proven ability to identify opportunities, engage C-level and technical stakeholders, lead consultative selling, and convert technical requirements into compelling business value.
• Knowledge of the local partner ecosystem, including system integrators, managed-service providers, distributors, and migration service partners.
• Strong commercial awareness, including opportunity qualification, competitive positioning, pricing strategy, ROI/TCO modelling, pipeline management, and deal closure.
• Excellent English communication, presentation, negotiation, and cross-functional coordination skills; local market experience and established customer relationships are highly desirable.

Technical knowledge and skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Management, Marketing, ICT or related qualification will be an advantage
• Minimum 5 years sales experience related to Public Cloud
• 4+ years of experience in cloud computing, virtualization, data-center modernization, or infrastructure solution architecture.
• Industry understanding: Have a certain understanding of the major industries (finance, media, Internet, manufacturing, and healthcare) of the public cloud.
• Solution capability: Ability to understand and explain mainstream public cloud solutions (IaaS, PaaS, big data, IOT, and EI).
• Business expansion capability: Be able to identify accurately, expand, and penetration of the opportunities.
• Basic understanding of AWS, Azure, Google cloud.
• Understanding of cloud migration of the application.
• Strong knowledge of VMware technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, NSX, VMware Cloud Foundation, backup, disaster recovery, and workload migration. Ability to assess VMware environments and develop replacement solutions based on clients Cloud, clients Cloud Stack, virtualization, container, and hybrid-cloud technologies.
• Proficiency in workload discovery, dependency analysis, capacity sizing, migration-wave planning, risk assessment, and business continuity design.
• Ability to understand solution architectures, migration roadmaps, technical proposals, Bills of Materials.
• Ability to develop TCO analyses, and customer-facing presentations.
• Good understanding of compute, storage, networking, security, databases, containers, and cloud-management platforms.
• Relevant certifications in VMware, cloud architecture, virtualization, networking, or Cloud are preferred.
