Zusammenfassung

Netcare is seeking a Hospital Based Academic Staff (HBAS) to facilitate teaching and learning in a clinical nursing setting and to strengthen theory-practice integration for Netcare Education programs.

The role involves academic leadership, student assessment, project collaboration with hospital teams, and ongoing development of nursing education standards within Netcare’s environment. A registered SANC nurse with education qualifications is essential.

Qualifikationen

• Proof of current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a General Nurse and Midwife with an additional qualification of Nursing Education qualification.
• A bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Additional qualifications in related specialties required for the HBAS; ICU qualification is advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an academic environment.
• Assessor unit standard completed and registered with SANC.
• Moderator unit standard completed and registered with SANC within the first year of employment.
• A master’s degree in a Clinical Specialty/Education will be advantageous.
• Commitment to commence further studies towards achieving a master’s degree within 2 years.
• Own transport and driver’s license.

Aufgaben

• Facilitate the work integrated learning of Netcare students within the context of the clinical model.
• Provide timely assessment of student progress through the application of evaluation techniques.
• Develop and monitor the development of student knowledge, skills, and capabilities.
• Focus on quality orientation in all academic and clinical nursing processes.
• Understand, apply, and leverage IT & technology systems to reinforce learning.
• Convey information clearly through diverse educational strategies to engage students.
• Provide remedial teaching and academic support to students.
• Supervise student progress and compile clinical progress reports.
• Conduct clinical accompaniment and academic rounds to ensure evidence-based practice.
• Maintain compliance with policies and legislation; ensure a safe learning environment.
