Job summary

Netcare in Durban is seeking Hospital Based Academic Staff (HBAS) to lead the teaching and learning of clinical nursing within Netcare facilities. You will integrate theory and practice to reinforce student learning and provide up-to-date nursing education, evaluation and support in the hospital ward environment.

The role includes facilitating work-integrated learning, evaluating student progress, maintaining LMS records and collaborating with Netcare Education to ensure continuous development,

Qualifications

• Registered with the SA Nursing Council as General Nurse and Midwife.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing; master’s in education is advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an academic environment.
• Assessor and moderator unit standards completed and registered with SANC.
• Own transport and driving license.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate teaching and learning of theory and clinical components in a nursing environment.
• Draw up and monitor WIL placement rosters and assess student performance.
• Load clinical assessment results into the LMS and maintain records.
• Conduct clinical rounds and supervise Netcare students and nurses.
