Job summary

IQVIA in South Africa seeks a Data Acquisition Specialist - External Data (Remote/Homebased) to define, set up and ingest external data streams for clinical trials, ensuring alignment with protocol requirements and data protection laws.

You will liaise with data stakeholders, draft data transfer agreements, perform UAT, and monitor data transfer accuracy across diverse teams in a global study environment, with emphasis on SDTM and GCP/ICH guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; clinical research exposure preferred.
• Minimum 3 years' experience managing data in clinical research.
• Experience with external data sources such as Safety Lab, PK, biomarkers, ECG, etc.
• Experience collaborating with external data providers in a trial setting.
• Experience drafting data transfer agreements and working with SDTM.
• Familiarity with GCP/ICH guidelines and strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Define, set up and ingest External Data Streams per protocol requirements.
• Plan external data stream setup activities to meet study timelines.
• Liaise with data stakeholders to specify data transfer, ingestion and structure.
• Create change requests for new data concepts or structures.
• Develop trial-specific tsDTA agreements detailing transfer and ingestion.
• Ensure data transfer frequencies meet study needs and monitoring.
• Coordinate with external providers to align tsDTA and data standards.
• Translate medical concepts into data mapping guidance for programmers.
• Perform UAT of test data transfers for data specification compliance.
• Implement external data transfer mechanisms into the CDR and provide access to providers.
• Monitor availability and accuracy of external streams; resolve data issues.
