Job summary

IQVIA is hiring a Data Acquisition Specialist - External Data (Remote/Homebased) in South Africa. You will define, setup, and ingest External Data Streams for clinical trials, collaborating with data stakeholders to ensure compliant transfer and ingestion according to protocols.

You will work with diverse data sources (labs, ECG, imaging, EHR, wearables) and translate scientific concepts into data mapping guidance while ensuring data quality and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience managing data in support of clinical research.
• Experience working with external data providers within a clinical study setting.
• Experience developing data transfer agreements.
• Experience working on clinical trials.
• Knowledge of SDTM.
• Working knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Execute deliverables for Standardized External Data Streams.
• Assess external data collection requirements per protocol and plan setup activities to meet study start-up timelines.
• Liaise with key data stakeholders to define data transfer, ingestion, and structure per data model.
• Create change requests for new test concepts or data structures.
• Develop trial-specific Data Transfer Agreements documenting study requirements and methods.
• Ensure data transfer frequencies meet approved requirements.
• Translate medical/scientific concepts into data mapping guidance for Clinical programmers.
• UAT of test data transfers to ensure accuracy with Data Transfer Agreements.
• Implement data transfer mechanisms for external data streams (into CDR).
• Monitor availability and accuracy of external data streams; resolve transfer issues.

Education
