Job summary

IQVIA is seeking a Data Acquisition Specialist - External Data (Remote/Homebased) to define, set up and ingest external data streams for clinical trials. The role covers data transfer, mapping, and collaboration with data providers to ensure compliant, timely data capture across multiple South Africa locations.

You will collaborate with global teams, ensure SDTM alignment, and contribute to data transfer agreements and UAT activities, while operating within GCP/ICH guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science.
• Minimum 3 years' experience managing data in clinical research.
• Experience with external data (Safety Lab, PK, biomarkers, ECG, etc.).
• Experience with external data providers in a clinical study setting.
• Experience developing data transfer agreements.
• Experience in clinical trials.
• Experience working in diverse, cross-functional teams; global/multiregional.
• Knowledge of SDTM.
• Working knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Execute deliverables for Standardized External Data Streams.
• Assess external data collection requirements per protocol and plan setup activities.
• Liaise with data stakeholders for data transfer, ingestion and structure per data streams.
• Create change requests for new test concepts or data structures.
• Develop trial-specific data transfer agreements documenting requirements.
• Ensure data transfer frequencies meet study needs (monitoring and reporting).
• Liaise with external data providers to align tsDTA agreements.
• Translate medical concepts into data mapping guidance for programmers.
• UAT of test data transfers ensuring accuracy with data specs.
• Implement data transfer mechanisms for external data streams into CDR.
• Monitor availability and accuracy of external data streams; resolve issues.
