Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Civil Project Engineer for a hands-on role in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will oversee civil construction sites, coordinate with contractors, and ensure projects are delivered on time and to spec.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years in civil construction, a Civil Engineering degree, and preferred Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng registration. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) registration is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil construction and project management.
• Proficiency with project management software (MS Project/Primavera) and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day construction activities on civil sites.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Monitor progress, identify delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure safety, quality standards, and project specs are met.
• Review plans and provide technical guidance on-site.
• Prepare regular progress reports for managers and stakeholders.
• Manage site resources including labour, materials, and equipment.
• Conduct site inspections and quality control checks.
• Resolve on-site technical issues and conflicts.
• Liaise with authorities and regulatory bodies as required.
