Job summary

Placements24 seeks a diligent Civil Engineer in Paarl, Western Cape, to plan, design and oversee infrastructure for new developments, including roads, stormwater, water supply and sewer reticulation.

The successful candidate will lead site development activities, collaborate with town planners and authorities, and ensure compliance with municipal standards. A BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering with 5 years’ experience and ECSA registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in land development engineering and municipal services design.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng or Pr Tech) is preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) and storm/water modeling tools.
• Understanding of land use planning processes and municipal engineering standards in the Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail site development infrastructure, including access roads, parking areas, and earthworks.
• Develop comprehensive stormwater management plans and drainage designs for developments.
• Design water reticulation and sewer systems, ensuring connection to existing municipal services.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation for approvals and tender.
• Liaise with town planners, architects, and local authority officials throughout the development process.
• Conduct site inspections and provide construction supervision to ensure quality and compliance.
