About the Role

Our client, a dedicated organization providing a safe and nurturing environment for children and youth in need, is seeking compassionate and committed Child and Youth Care Workers to join their residential facility team in Klerksdorp, North West . This role is essential in providing direct care, supervision, and support to the residents, fostering their physical, emotional, and social development. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to create a stable and positive living environment. You will be involved in daily routines, behavioral support, and activities designed to promote the well-being and growth of the young people under your care. This is a vital hands-on role within the Klerksdorp community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision to children and youth in the residential facility.
• Implement daily routines, including mealtimes, homework supervision, hygiene, and bedtime.
• Establish and maintain positive, supportive relationships with residents.
• Assist residents with daily living skills and personal care needs as required.
• Implement behavior management strategies and promote a positive and safe environment.
• Facilitate and participate in recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities.
• Support residents in attending school and external appointments.
• Document observations, incidents, and progress in accordance with facility policies.
• Collaborate with social workers, psychologists, and other professionals to support residents' care plans.
• Ensure the safety and security of the residents and the facility at all times.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Child and Youth Care Work, Social Work, or a related field (e.g., NQF Level 4 or higher).
• Previous experience working with children or youth in a residential or care setting is essential.
• Demonstrated understanding of child development and common behavioral challenges.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to the well-being of children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required by the facility's schedule.
• Basic knowledge of child protection policies and procedures.
• First Aid and CPR certification is an advantage.
• Reside within or be able to commute to Klerksdorp .
