Placements24 is seeking dedicated Child and Youth Care Workers to support children and young people in a residential setting in Polokwane. You will help create a safe, nurturing environment and assist with daily routines while promoting personal, social, and emotional development.

The role requires relevant qualifications in Child and Youth Care or related fields, experience with children, trauma-informed approaches, excellent communication, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Child and Youth Care Work, Social Auxiliary Work, or related field.
• Experience working with children or adolescents in a residential setting preferred.
• Understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and positive discipline strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
• First Aid certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, supervision, and emotional support to children and youth in a residential facility.
• Assist children with daily living activities, including hygiene, meals, homework, and recreational activities.
• Implement and adhere to behavior management plans and therapeutic interventions.
• Foster a positive and safe living environment, promoting respect and mutual understanding.
• Collaborate with other care workers, supervisors, and external professionals (e.g., social workers, teachers).
• Document observations, incidents, and progress notes accurately and timely.

About the Role

Our client is looking for dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Care Workers to provide essential support and care to children and young people in a residential setting in Polokwane.
