Unknown Client, a major mining operation near Mahikeng, North West, seeks a Chief Mine Surveyor to lead on-site surveying across the complex. You will drive accuracy, efficiency and regulatory compliance, overseeing a team of surveyors and coordinating with planning and engineering.

The role requires a Professional Land Surveyor with PLATO registration, a Master's degree in Surveying or Geomatics, and 12+ years in mine surveying with 5+ in a senior capacity. Relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Professional Land Surveyor registration (PLATO) is required.
• Master's degree in Surveying, Geomatics or related field preferred.
• 12+ years mining surveying experience, with 5+ years in a senior role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the mine surveying department, including staff supervision and performance management.
• Develop and implement surveying strategies for the mining operation.
• Oversee primary survey control networks establishment and maintenance.
• Ensure accurate mapping, volumetric calculations, and reporting for ore, waste, and infrastructure.
• Manage acquisition, processing, and interpretation of survey data with advanced software and equipment.
• Coordinate with management, planning, geology and engineering for project alignment.
• Adhere to legal, regulatory, and safety requirements for mine surveying.
• Evaluate new surveying technologies and equipment for adoption.
• Conduct quality checks on survey work and data.
• Contribute to mine planning and design with reliable spatial information.
