About the Role

This is a distinguished, fully remote leadership position, offering the opportunity to shape the legal strategy of a rapidly expanding organization. The CLO will oversee all legal affairs, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and litigation. The role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in financial services regulation and a proven ability to manage complex legal challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all legal and compliance operations for the organization.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from a reputable institution.
• Admitted to practice law in South Africa, with a minimum of 15 years of relevant legal experience.
• Significant experience in corporate law, financial services regulation, and compliance.
• Proven track record in a senior legal leadership role, preferably as General Counsel or CLO.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a legal team.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with international regulatory frameworks and cross-border transactions is essential.
• Strong understanding of risk management and corporate governance principles.
