Qualifications

• Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in corporate law, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., General Counsel, Head of Legal, CLO).
• Extensive experience in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, commercial law, and risk management.
• Proven track record of managing complex legal matters and leading legal teams.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, leadership, and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the company's legal department, including all legal and compliance staff.
• Provide strategic legal advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and all material business decisions.
• Oversee the company's engagement with external legal counsel and manage legal budgets.
• Ensure the company's compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and listing requirements.
• Develop and implement effective legal and compliance policies and procedures across the organisation.
• Manage all litigation, regulatory investigations, and dispute resolution matters.
• Advise on corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Support the Board of Directors on all governance and legal matters.
• Foster a culture of legal and ethical compliance throughout the organisation.
