Placements24 seeks an experienced Chemistry Lecturer for a respected TVET college in Klerksdorp, North West. This full-time, on-site role delivers high-quality Chemistry instruction to NATED/NC(V) students with practical lab sessions and assessments.

You will develop course materials, supervise labs, and assess student progress. A master's in Chemistry with a PGCE or TVET teaching qualification and at least four years of lecturing experience are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemistry or related field.
• Teaching qualification such as PGCE or Diploma in TVET Teaching.
• Minimum of 4 years of lecturing Chemistry at a TVET college or equivalent.
• Experience conducting practical laboratory sessions and managing laboratory resources.
• Strong knowledge of Chemistry principles and their industrial applications.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver engaging lesson plans.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and standard laboratory equipment.
• On-site role in Klerksdorp, North West.

Responsabilités

• Deliver comprehensive lectures and practical laboratory sessions in Chemistry to NATED and NC(V) students.
• Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assessment tools in line with curriculum requirements.
• Conduct practical demonstrations and supervise students during laboratory experiments, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Assess student learning through examinations, assignments, projects, and practical assessments.
• Provide academic support and guidance to students, fostering their understanding and interest in Chemistry.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance.
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum reviews, and college committees.
• Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of laboratory equipment and facilities.
• Stay updated with advancements in Chemistry and relevant pedagogical techniques.
• Promote a safe and effective learning environment in lectures and laboratories.
