Placements24 is seeking a Senior Chemistry Teacher to join its science department in Randburg, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will plan engaging lessons, lead laboratory activities, and assess student progress while maintaining a dynamic and supportive classroom environment.

The role requires a PGCE or equivalent qualification, a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, and SACE registration, with a minimum of four years’ secondary-level teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science field.
• PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Minimum of 4 years of secondary Chemistry teaching experience.
• SACE registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging chemistry lessons to secondary students across organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry.
• Design and conduct practical laboratory sessions ensuring safety and clear learning outcomes.
• Develop and administer assessments, assignments, and tests to monitor progress.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and support improvement.
• Integrate innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance learning.
• Maintain a positive, disciplined classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Collaborate with fellow science teachers on interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Stay updated on curriculum changes and advancements in chemistry.
