Placements24 is assisting a well-established secondary school in Rustenburg, North West to hire a passionate Chemistry Educator for Grades 10-12 on-site. The role centers on delivering high-quality chemistry education, practical laboratory skills, and developing critical thinking in a supportive learning environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Science Education, a teaching qualification with SACE registration, and at least three years of high school experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Science Education is required.
• SACE registration and teaching qualification are essential.
• Minimum of 3 years of high school Chemistry teaching experience is expected.
• Strong NSC curriculum knowledge and classroom management are required.
• Experience conducting safe, practical chemistry experiments in a classroom/lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver dynamic chemistry lessons for Grades 10-12 under NSC curriculum.
• Plan and conduct practical laboratory sessions ensuring safety and learning outcomes.
• Develop and administer assessments to monitor student progress.
• Provide timely feedback and maintain accurate attendance and performance records.
• Collaborate with HoS and science department on curriculum development and school initiatives.
• Engage with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities.
• Uphold professional ethics and contribute to a collegial teaching staff.
