About the Role

Our client, an esteemed academic institution in Klerksdorp, North West , is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Chemistry Teacher. Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver engaging chemistry lessons aligned with the national curriculum. Conduct practical laboratory sessions, ensuring safety and proper technique. Assess student learning through various methods, including tests, assignments, and experiments. Provide individualized support and guidance to students to enhance their understanding. Foster a positive and inquiry-based learning environment in the classroom and laboratory. Collaborate with the science department on curriculum development and cross-curricular projects. Maintain accurate student records and progress reports. Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and professional development activities. Mentor junior science educators and contribute to departmental initiatives. Ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained and used safely and effectively.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science, with a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE). Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in Chemistry at the high school level. In-depth knowledge of the South African National Curriculum (CAPS) for Chemistry. Proven ability to manage a classroom and laboratory effectively and safely. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using educational technology and laboratory equipment. A passion for science education and inspiring young learners. Willingness to work collaboratively within a team environment in Klerksdorp, North West . SACE registration and a valid teaching certificate. Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning needs.
