Job summary

Placements24 in Rustenburg is seeking a dedicated Chemical Engineer to optimize processes in our mining and minerals processing operations. You will analyze existing plants, identify bottlenecks, and implement data-driven changes to boost throughput, safety, and environmental performance.

The ideal candidate has a 5+ year track record in process engineering, hands-on experience with Aspen HYSYS or CHEMCAD, and a collaborative approach to working with operations and maintenance teams on site.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
5+ years in chemical process engineering with optimization focus.
Experience with Aspen HYSYS or CHEMCAD.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

Analyze existing chemical processes to identify efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
Develop and implement process modifications and upgrades to enhance performance.
Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for proposed changes.
Use process simulation software to model, test, and optimize plant operations.
Troubleshoot deviations and implement corrective actions for optimal production.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams for seamless integration of improvements.
Develop and deliver training on new process technologies and procedures.
Monitor KPIs and report on process efficiency and environmental compliance.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Participate in PHAs and risk assessments.
