Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Chemical Process Engineer to join the Vereeniging project execution team. You will design, develop, and implement new chemical processes and plant modifications, managing projects from conception to commissioning while ensuring budget, schedule, and safety standards are met.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering and 3–5 years of experience in process design or project engineering, with strong CAD and process simulation skills.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in project engineering or process design.
• Solid understanding of process design principles, equipment selection, and project management methodologies.
• Experience with process simulation software and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the detailed design and engineering of chemical process systems for capital projects.
• Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and start-up of new process equipment and systems.
• Provide technical support during the operational phase of projects and assist with troubleshooting.
