Placements24 is seeking a driven Project Chemical Engineer to manage and execute capital projects at their Klerksdorp facility. You will oversee the full lifecycle from concept through commissioning, coordinating stakeholders, budgets, and timelines.

The role requires a BEng/BSc in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of project engineering experience, strong PM skills, and experience with P&IDs and vendor management.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of project engineering/management experience.
• Proven ability to deliver capital projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a driven Project Chemical Engineer to manage and execute capital projects within their facility in Klerksdorp . You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to commissioning and handover. This role requires a proactive individual capable of managing multiple stakeholders, budgets, and timelines effectively. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new chemical process equipment and plants.
• Develop project scopes, detailed engineering designs, and cost estimates.
• Ensure all projects meet safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers throughout the project duration.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Prepare project reports, budgets, and schedules for senior management.

Requirements

• B.Eng or B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering and management, preferably in the chemical or mining industry.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering capital projects on time and within budget.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
• Experience with P&IDs, equipment specifications, and vendor management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
