Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a versatile Chemical Engineer to provide essential support for manufacturing operations in Randburg in a hybrid role, addressing immediate process issues, improving efficiency, and ensuring plant reliability.

You will partner with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot, analyze data, implement yield improvements, and contribute to preventative maintenance and safety reviews within a dynamic plant environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
2–4 years of plant-based chemical engineering experience.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation.
Good communication and ability to collaborate in hybrid settings.

Responsibilities

Provide immediate technical support to production teams to resolve process upsets and equipment issues.
Analyze process data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and implement solutions to enhance process yield, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
Collaborate with maintenance and operations staff on preventative maintenance programs.
Assist in the commissioning and startup of new equipment or process modifications.
Contribute to safety reviews and ensure compliance with EHS standards.
