Placements24 is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer for a fertilizer production facility in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will optimize manufacturing processes, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and drive efficiency and product quality.

You will collaborate with operations, quality control and maintenance to implement process improvements, troubleshoot deviations, and support equipment upgrades in a dynamic industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in chemical manufacturing or fertilizer industry.
• Solid understanding of mass and energy balances, reaction engineering, and separation processes.
• Experience with process simulation software is beneficial.
• Familiarity with safety protocols in chemical plants.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
• Experience in South Africa's industrial regulatory environment is an advantage.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and analyze production data to optimize fertilizer manufacturing processes for efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness.
• Identify and resolve process deviations and operational issues in a timely manner.
• Participate in the design and implementation of process improvements and new equipment installations.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations relevant to fertilizer production.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations for process modifications and upgrades.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to maintain product specifications and consistency.
• Support the maintenance team in troubleshooting equipment related to chemical processes.
• Stay informed about advancements in fertilizer production technology and chemical engineering practices.
• Assist in process safety reviews and risk assessments.
