Job summary

P&L is seeking a Forklift Driver to operate forklifts safely and provide excellent customer service in the store. You will merchandise stock, label prices, and keep the designated area tidy while supporting customers with product knowledge and additional services.

Responsibilities include loading purchases, ensuring damage-free handling, and adhering to safety protocols during shifts, including weekends and public holidays. A valid forklift license is required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or minimum of 1 year work related experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and Public Holidays.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Must be physically fit to operate a forklift.
• Must have a valid forklift license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the forklift in a safe and cost effective manner.
• Provide comprehensive customer service in the store.
• Merchandise stock, label shelf prices and maintain store housekeeping.
• Acknowledge customers and determine their needs; advise on products and assist with queries.
• Load customer purchases efficiently and safely, ensuring no damage to goods or customer vehicle.
• Offer additional services (delivery, plan reading, credit programmes, special orders) and promote store offerings.
• Ensure area is fully merchandised according to layout and planograms; keep aisles clear of obstacles.
• Maintain safety standards (OHSA) and report any forklift faults or maintenance needs.
