Job summary

SIGNAL HILL PRODUCTS in South Africa is seeking a forklift operator to work on site. The role focuses on operating the forklift safely, ensuring materials are correctly located and moved to maximise efficiency on the shop floor.

You will load/unload, ship/receive, inspect equipment and products, perform basic forklift inspections and maintenance, and uphold health and safety standards. Candidates should hold valid forklift certification and have at least two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Valid certification to operate forklifts is required.
• A minimum of 2 years’ forklift operator experience.
• Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to production schedules.
• Loading, unloading, shipping and receiving warehouse items.
• Keep track of the location of goods.
• Move goods between locations.
• Optimize loads for operational efficiency.
• Pick and wrap orders for shipment.
• Inspect products for quality conformance.
• Inspect forklift and perform routine maintenance.
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
• Be flexible in supporting the business with additional duties.

Overall Responsibility

To operate the forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. The goal will be to ensure that material and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

• Adhere to production schedules
• Loading, unloading, shipping and receiving warehouse items
• Keep track of the location of goods
• Move goods from one location to another
• Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency
• Picking and wrapping orders for shipment
• Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards
• Perform inspections on the forklift
• Perform routine maintenance on the forklift
• Ensure proper health and safety regulations are followed

Requirements of the Role

• Valid certification to operate forklifts
• A minimum of 2 years’ forklift operator experience
