KWV in Paarl is seeking a cellar assistant to support the winemaking team in daily activities, including grape handling, transfers, racking, and general hygiene.

The role requires Grade 12, 1–2 years in a cellar, 2–3 years harvest experience, and willingness to work overtime, night shifts and weekends. Preference for forklift license and SKOP qualification.

Responsabilidades

• Handling of grapes
• Accurate additions according to work instructions/procedures
• Transferring of wine
• Filling and emptying of barrels
• Blending according to work instruction
• Participate in MDWT and ensure boards are updated accordingly
• Job card completion and record keeping
• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety principles
• Housekeeping/5S and cellar hygiene
• Knowledge of machine operation (e.g. centrifuge, crossflow filtration, press operation) advantageous
• Will work overtime, night shift and weekends when required

Purpose:

This position will assist the winemaking team in daily winemaking activities as needed, including but not limited to tank-to-tank transfers, additions, racking, maintaining general cellar hygiene, administrative duties and harvest activities.

• Grade 12
• 1 - 2 years relevant experience in a Cellar environment
• A minimum of 2 – 3 years relevant harvest experience in a Cellar environment
• Knowledge of operating cellar machinery will be advantageous
• A valid forklift license will be advantageous
• SKOP qualification would be advantageous
